Nick Carter receives a mysterious box addressed to a non-existent person, containing phonograph records on which a woman named Nancy Deering has secretly recorded her desperate situation—she is being held prisoner and fears for her life. As Carter listens to the records, he learns of a sinister plot involving her stepchildren Ralph and Olivet, and discovers clues pointing to Toronto, Canada, where he must unravel a complex mystery of disappearance and murder.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
