What happens
Irma Peterson and her roommate Jane run a small restaurant for their landlord and friend Professor Kropotkin, who has finally opened his own cafe. Irma's muddled bookkeeping and cooking complaints strain the household, and Mrs. O'Reilly and Al add their own troubles. Kropotkin finds himself in a rush of dealings over the business, and the group argues over how to bring in customers. Irma is sent to the city commissioner to bring guests in, but a mix-up sends a different crowd to the restaurant. My Friend Irma aired on CBS Radio on October 4, 1948, starring Marie Wilson and Cathy Lewis, with Hans Conried and Alan Reed in supporting roles.
An apartment shared by Irma and Jane, and a newly opened restaurant run by Professor Kropotkin in the city.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
