What happens

Irma and Jane are dismayed when their landlord, Professor Kropotkin, loses his job after five years of work. Their friends rally round to help him open a restaurant of his own. Irma proposes the idea, and each of them offers a part in running it, from the books to the cooking. Their plans run into trouble when the professor cannot raise the money for the lease. Jane and Irma then go to a bank, where they are told the loan needs a reliable co-signer. The episode is part of the My Friend Irma series, which first aired on CBS Radio on September 27, 1948, with Marie Wilson and Cathy Lewis among the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
