What happens
Irma Peterson and her roommate Jane share their apartment with the neighbours in a crowded building, where the Martins have been fighting again. Henry Martin has been violent toward his wife, Jacqueline, and the tenants gather to discuss what to do. Mrs. O'Reilly, the landlady, is more concerned with the unpaid rent than with the trouble. Irma and Jane try to talk sense into everyone while the feuding couple's behaviour keeps spilling into the hallway. This is the first part of My Friend Irma, a CBS Radio comedy from June 9, 1953, starring Marie Wilson and Cathy Lewis.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
