What happens
Ken Thurston, known as the man called X, works to stop a smallpox outbreak that is spreading from Mexico into Arizona and New Mexico. Four of the dead men arrived recently without papers, and a dying man kept repeating the words El Castillo Blanco. Thurston travels to the White Castle ranch, owned by Estelle Caro, where a shooting on the road and a body found in an icehouse raise the stakes. Friends of Dr. Clark are among the guests, and Thurston begins to suspect that someone close to the investigation is involved in smuggling people across the border. The episode is part of the Frigidaire-sponsored series The Man Called X, first broadcast on August 21, 1947, starring Herbert Marshall.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
