What happens

Ken Thurston, the man called X, investigates the murder of David Yorken, a part owner of a small Israeli airline, in Ankara, Turkey. Yorken had told Ken he suspected that guns were being smuggled to Syrian renegades to stir up border trouble. Thurston meets Yorken's airline partners, Bill Johnson and Reba Landers, and a shipper named Yousaf Tassanari. Later, a break-in at Tassanari's warehouse leads Thurston to a sudden shooting and a chase toward Damascus. The story is part of The Man Called X, a Saturday Night feature on NBC, and this episode was broadcast on April 28, 1951, with Herbert Marshall in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
