What happens
Ken Thurston, an American, arrives in a Sicilian village to buy a farm tractor for the struggling village of Ciento. A lad named Alberto, who has visions and is regarded by the villagers as a prophet, has been sent to the fair to secure it, while local men like Savelli and Juliano oppose the sale. The Man Called X, starring Herbert Marshall, first aired on April 15, 1952. Thurston and the other characters find the sale tangled in threats and mounting tension as Easter approaches, and the tractor's journey toward the village becomes dangerous.
Sicily, Italy, in the village of Ciento and the nearby town of Palermo, around Easter, after World War II.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
