What happens

Louis de la Costa is building a waterway to open the interior rivers of Venezuela, a project he hopes will bring schools and hospitals to isolated villages. After his associate Ken Thurston is recruited to investigate a series of sabotage incidents on the project, the two men travel upriver toward the construction site. Thurston sizes up the passengers on the riverboat while the engineers and government inspectors at the site argue over the dynamite charges and the damage already done. The Man Called X, a radio adventure series, aired on February 26, 1952, starring Herbert Marshall in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
