What happens
Ken Thurston, an investigator sent to Haiti, looks into a wave of killings of government officials in Port-au-Prince, where victims rise again as obedient zombies, and the authorities are growing desperate. He meets Captain Andres, General Brock and Missy Bussard, and attends a dinner at her plantation, where a man who seems to be a zombie appears from the dark. The Man Called X is the series title, and this episode aired on NBC on May 18, 1951, starring Herbert Marshall as the title character. Thurston and his associate Pagan work to understand the zombies and the hypnotic methods behind them, while martial law looms.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
