What happens

Ken Thurston, known as the man called X, travels to the Burmese principality of Tavoy after hearing that Paul Zali, leader of a group of displaced Polish refugees, has been shot dead. Thurston's old acquaintance Pagan accompanies him, and they meet Zali's daughter Helen, who blames the Burmese sugar farmer Neruda for her father's death. Prince Khan, ruler of Tavoy, is worried that the town is about to erupt into a riot between the refugees and the local farmers, and Thurston is drawn into a tense standoff as the situation grows more dangerous by the hour.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
