What happens

Ken Thurston, known as the man called X, is in Athens searching for ten million dollars donated decades ago to fund a youth foundation for Greek orphans. A fake Byzantine Bible, offered for fifty thousand dollars, seems to hold the clue, and a sale turns deadly in a bookshop. Thurston pursues the Bible through a shady smuggler's den and the hotel where Pagan and Grisha are staying. Herbert Marshall stars in this episode of The Man Called X, first aired on May 20, 1952. The story is still developing when this part of the episode ends.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
