What happens

Lum and Abner, the Pine Ridge store owners, learn that their wives have been given new privileges and that the town's men are losing ground. Abner receives a Valentine's Day card from a woman he has been courting, and the card's teasing verse prompts him and Lum to puzzle over what it means. Meanwhile, the men's protective association, which was formed to defend husbands against their wives' demands, is struggling, and Squire Skimp calls an urgent meeting after learning that the women are secretly planning their own association. The series aired on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, and the lead actors are Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
