What happens
Lum and Abner follow the men of Pine Ridge, whose protective association has run into trouble after the village wives form their own Women's Protective Association. Abner finds himself milking a cow and hungry for breakfast, while the wives have stopped cooking and doing chores and are on strike. The men gather for a secret meeting to decide how to respond, and the situation grows more pressing as hunger and household tensions mount. Lum and Abner is a radio comedy series, and this episode aired on February 16, 1940, on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle among the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
