What happens
Lum and Abner revisit their failed bank venture in Pine Ridge, where only the wire partition remains in the store. They argue over whether to tear it down or keep it, and Abner proposes turning the space into a nursery. Lum objects that children will pull up flowers and cost them money, while Abner insists he has in mind a greenhouse for children to play in. Lum goes off to consult Dick Huddleson, and Cedric Hunt arrives to find Mom alone and plotting a surprise. The episode is from the Lum and Abner series, first aired September 19, 1941 on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
