What happens

Lum Edwards has signed over full ownership of the store and bakery to Abner Peabody so that he can train for a boxing match, but Lum considers the paper worthless. Abner decides to hold Lum to it for a few days to teach him a lesson. In Pine Ridge, Abner and Grandpappy Spears see the bakery business booming, with Elizabeth baking bread and Cedric delivering it. When Lum returns, Abner tells him the store is now his, and Lum is furious. Lum storms out, threatening a lawsuit and a rival store across the street. The Lum and Abner series, first broadcast on January 8, 1942, stars Chester Lauck and Norris Goff, with Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
