What happens
Lum and Abner, the two storekeepers of Pine Ridge, find their shop at the center of a motion picture production when a film company arrives to shoot in the town. Crowds gather and the locals watch as the crew sets up. Lum and Abner spar over the business, with Squire sizing up the commercial angle and the two old friends bickering about their stardom. The studio wants a modern store, but the townspeople want the old-fashioned store kept just as it is, and the two partners must decide how to handle the demands of the picture. The episode is part of the Lum and Abner series, first broadcast on March 27, 1940, with Chester Lauck and Norris Goff in the lead roles and Lurene Tuttle also appearing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
