What happens
Lum and Abner face trouble in Pine Ridge after Ulysses S. Quincy, the winner of a contest over a $10,000 gift, insists the town build a toll bridge, even though there is no river. Lum and Abner are troubled by his constant calls and his demands to start building. They turn to Squire Skimp for advice, and he reviews the law and finds that the town may be bound to follow the winning suggestion. Meanwhile, Cedric, a young boy, adds his own confusion to the situation.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
