What happens

Lum and Abner, the proprietors of the Jot 'Em Down Store in Pine Ridge, are caught up in the town's new air raid precautions. Mousey, appointed as a night watcher, delivers a long and stubbornly detailed report to Lum about the hours he spent on duty. He describes the hooting owl, a passing car, and a package handed to Dodge Needs, which leads Lum to suspect a rival for the circulation manager job. Abner is curious about the report's contents, and the group sets out to identify the car by its license number.

Listen for: Mousey's night watch report, with its hooting owl, and the search for the license number of the mysterious car

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
