What happens

Lum and Abner, the radio comedy set in the hill country town of Pine Ridge, first aired on February 7, 1940. Abner and Grandpappy Spears plan a men's protective association after Lum proposes that the local husbands band together against their wives. They draft a set of rules, including that husbands may attend meetings without permission and that the wife must always accept that her husband is right. Abner then tells Elizabeth he is going to a meeting that night, and she answers that nobody is going to stop her.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
