What happens

Lum and Abner follow the aftermath of Florence Beaumont's departure from Pine Ridge. Lum has given up his suit for her hand, and he now declares he will never again trust a woman. Abner backs him up as the two talk over their grievances about married life while the town gossips. Cedric Weihunt is seen running off to the barbershop before delivering groceries to the newcomers, a family with a pretty daughter. The Lum and Abner series, first broadcast on February 5, 1940, is heard on the NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC networks, starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
