What happens

Lum Edwards faces a choice in Pine Ridge: help Squire Skimp and Prince Alec Kushner squeeze money from townsfolk through a fake bone-healing racket, or be exposed for a fraudulent insurance claim that could send him to the penitentiary. Abner Peabody urges Lum to decide. Lum, feeling guilty, resolves to expose the healing scheme to the town and calls his friend Grandpa Masters to warn him off paying the prince. When the prince arrives at the store and tries to win Lum over with a cut of the money, Lum refuses and confronts him. The series, Lum and Abner, aired on November 3, 1941, starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
