What happens
Lum and Abner collect suggestions from the citizens of Pine Ridge on how best to spend the $10,000 that Dogberry Smith left the town. Lum and Abner read through the submissions in their store, sorting out the serious proposals from the jokes, and many of the suggestions are clearly from familiar local characters. The pair are amused and frustrated by the responses, especially those from Cedric and from Squire Skimp. Then a telegram arrives announcing that the new motion picture in which Lum and Abner appear is to have its premiere in Pine Ridge, and Lum makes an announcement over the party line to tell the listening townspeople. Lum and Abner are the stars of this radio series, which airs on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, and their cast includes Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
