What happens

Lum and Abner worry after holding a box of diamonds for a man named Devereaux, who may come back looking for them. Lum has written to a wealthy Kansas City woman named Miss Barrington, and Abner has fallen in love with her from hearing about her alone. The two discuss whether to return the diamonds to the police, set a plan to travel to Kansas City by train, and read a book on jiu-jitsu holds to prepare for trouble. The Lum and Abner radio series aired on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle among the cast. The episode first aired on September 8, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
