What happens

Lum and Abner are partners in the Jot 'Em Down store and the Pine Ridge Bakery, and their long-running quarrel has left Abner struggling to run the store alone. Lum has tried a pretended nervous breakdown to win back his place, but it has failed. Abner has signed away his share of the bakery, and Lum has now started a rival library in the store. Grandpa Spears watches from the library table, offering his blunt advice as the two men circle around their differences. The partners are pressed into a reluctant meeting, and the story turns on a legal paper that both of them are anxious to keep hidden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
