What happens
Lum and Abner have opened a small bank in Pine Ridge, run alongside their Jot 'Em Down store. Abner, painting the vault, makes a mess of it, and the partners bicker over running the bank. They discover an $8.40 surplus in the books and debate how a bank earns money through loans and interest. Lum tries to persuade Abner and the townsfolk to deposit their savings with them, and the two agree to move their own money into the bank and take turns guarding the safe at night.
Pine Ridge, a small town; the new bank operated in connection with the Jot 'Em Down store

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
