What happens

Lum Edwards, newly promoted to circulation manager by Dogeny Smith, is sent to deliver bundles of pamphlets on honesty and right living to a town near Pine Ridge. Before leaving, he talks with Abner about setting up a small office and getting rubber stamps for his packages. Dogeny then gives Lum detailed instructions for his trip, including a password and a meeting place. Lum prepares to set off on the mail hack and train, with Abner and Mose seeing him off. Listen for: Lum's eagerness to prove himself as circulation manager, and the instructions Dogeny gives him for the trip to Fort Smith.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
