What happens

Lum and Abner, the proprietors of the Jot 'Em Down store in Pine Ridge, decide that Cedric Weehunt, who has recently had business success, should serve as store manager and generate ideas to boost trade. Cedric is meant to be thinking, but he spends his time chasing rabbits that have escaped from their crate. Lum and Abner settle on a drawing where customers receive a free chance at numbered tickets for prizes paid in store merchandise. Cedric is out front on the steps while Lum and Abner take credit for the scheme. The episode is part of the Lum and Abner series, which aired in 1941 on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
