What happens

Lum and Abner run the general store in Pine Ridge, where Cedric Wehunt, their former business manager, is back to sweeping and running errands after a costly idea. The partners worry about a growing population of rabbits they took in a trade and try to find someone to take them off their hands. Abner dresses a store dummy in a gingham dress and sun bonnet, and the joke draws in Sister Simpson and Elizabeth. The episode first aired on June 9, 1941 on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
