What happens

Lum and Abner run their store in Pine Ridge, and their trouble has grown worse since the rabbits began multiplying and the mule was sold. Cedric Weehunt, a part owner of the store, has been making profitable trades on the side, and Lum and Abner begin to suspect he may be a business genius. They decide to offer him full charge of the store, though they are unsure what they plan to do with him. Cedric is flattered and eager to suggest improvements, including weekly drawings for free tickets. This Lum and Abner episode from June 3, 1941 is broadcast over NBC, and its leads are Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
