What happens

Lum and Abner follow the aftermath of Elizabeth Peabody's capture of three bank robbers in Pine Ridge. Since then she has become a nationwide celebrity, and the governor is unhappy being known only as her husband. Townsfolk gossip about her newfound fame, reward money and publicity offers, while the governor and Granny weigh her prospects on stage. Their talk drifts from cowgirl outfits to whether Blue the dog could learn to talk. The episode, broadcast on March 8, 1940, stars Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
