What happens

Lum and Abner, a pair of small-town friends in Pine Ridge, become convinced that Cedric's sudden wealth comes from the lantern he carries, which they believe is a magic lamp like Aladdin's. Lum and Abner gather in the library and wait for Cedric to arrive, planning to borrow the lantern. Cedric is reluctant to hand it over, but Lum persuades him to leave it behind by offering him a errand. The two men then try rubbing the lantern and speaking to it, hoping to summon money. This episode of the Lum and Abner radio series was first broadcast on March 12, 1942, and starred Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Characters: Lum, Abner, Cedric, Dodge, Sid, Luke

Listen for: Lum and Abner rubbing the lantern and asking it for money, and their search for Cedric's magic secret

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
