What happens
Lum and Abner run their store in Pine Ridge while a contest for $10,000 is underway. Lum has been told by Dowdy Smith to find the town's most honest citizen, and Abner is hiding that he lost his job as head pamphlet writer. Grandpappy Spears waits in the store as the clocks are changed for wartime daylight saving time, and the town talks about why the change matters. Abner returns late from errands and a series of mix-ups over the time follows. The episode is from the Lum and Abner radio series, first broadcast on February 17, 1942, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
