What happens
Lum and Abner are two partners who run a general store in the small community of Pine Ridge. Lum is out on bail, facing trial for supposedly leading a counterfeiting ring, while Cedric remains locked up at the county seat. Lum prepares to leave the store in Abner's charge, but first he learns that his fingerprints appeared on packages of counterfeit money he unknowingly delivered, and that a picture of him has been identified by a captured accomplice. Lum frets over the trial and the prospect of the penitentiary, and Abner tries to cheer him up. The story is part of the long-running Lum and Abner radio comedy series, first broadcast on March 24, 1942, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
