What happens

Lum Edwards and Abner Peabody face arrest after Lum is accused of heading a counterfeiting ring in Pine Ridge. Abner had sent counterfeit money to a mail-order house, and Lum, out on bail, worries about his upcoming hearing while the two friends argue over who is to blame. Mr. Adams, a stranger investigating the case, insists that the operation is Lum's, while Lum insists that Dodge and Ease Smith is the real head of the scheme. Their friends begin to distance themselves, and the two men grow increasingly anxious about their reputations and their futures. The series is a radio comedy, and the episode was first broadcast on March 23, 1942, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
