What happens
Lum Edwards has paid five hundred dollars to bring a Hindu prince to Pine Ridge, and a healing performance is set for the schoolhouse. Lum hopes the prince will cure his broken leg so he can throw away his crutches. Townsfolk are excited, and the prince's manager, Squire Skimp, has been spreading word of the prince's remarkable feats. Abner Peabody and Lum discuss the prince's claimed exploits and wonder whether the crowds will be large enough for several shows. Lum proposes curing other injured townspeople, including a boy with a broken arm and an elderly woman with a broken hip, to fill more performances. The conversation turns to whether the prince can really perform such cures, and Squire is asked to persuade him. The episode is from the Lum and Abner series, first aired October 28, 1941, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
