What happens

Lum Edwards is summoned to a board of directors meeting at the county seat bank, and he is sure they want to merge it with the Pine Ridge bank. Abner waits at the Jot-Em-Down store for news, passing time with Grandpap Spears over checkers and talk of a church service. Abner announces that Lum has become president of the county seat bank and sets out plans for himself as assistant cashier. Lum returns with news that complicates the merger plans and sets the two men at odds over what to do next.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
