What happens

Luigi Bosco, a newcomer from Italy, begins night school in America and is eager to learn and become a citizen. His friends Schultz and Olson are his classmates, but the principal and a teacher named Mr. Heine split the class apart, and the two friends are separated from the others. Luigi, though, is a rival with a chance at an essay contest prize, and he develops an idea to bring the class back together. Life with Luigi is a comedy series, and this episode aired on 1951-08-28, with J. Carrol Naish in the title role and Alan Reed as Pasquale. The story centers on the school's classroom, Luigi's friendships, and his efforts to reunite his classmates.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
