What happens
Luigi Basco writes home to his mother in Italy about his night school class, where Pasquale has enrolled his heavyset daughter Rosa, hoping she will catch Luigi's eye. Luigi is annoyed and tries several schemes to get rid of her, including asking the teacher to move her to another class, which the teacher refuses. Rosa, meanwhile, shows surprising skill in grammar and history, and Luigi worries he may fail the coming final test. Pasquale is pleased with his plan. The series Life with Luigi and its 1952 air date are given in the message, and the lead actors named in the credits are Jay Carroll as Luigi and Alan Reed as Pasquale.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
