What happens
Luigi Basko, a young Italian immigrant attending night school in America, finds himself the target of his teacher's and friends' matchmaking when Rosa, the daughter of his landlord Mr. Spencer's neighbor, sets her sights on him. Luigi, who would rather avoid marriage, writes home to his mother in Italy about the pressure he faces. His classmates debate the matter in a mock United Nations session, and Luigi's father, the shopkeeper, wrestles with Rosa's behavior and the household finances. The episode is a light comedy of courtship and small-town manners. Life with Luigi is a CBS radio comedy series; this episode aired on January 22, 1952, with J. Carrol Naish in the title role and Alan Reed as Pasquale.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
