What happens

Luigi Basko, an Italian immigrant in America, learns that he was not counted in the national census and therefore feels he does not officially exist. Pasquale Pasquale Sapuddi tries to reassure him while Luigi's wife Rosa and the other neighbors worry about his distress. Luigi visits a lost-and-found bureau, a bum tells him a census taker never reached him, and he goes to the census office seeking to be added to the count. The comedy follows Luigi's anxious attempts to prove he is a resident of the United States. Life with Luigi was a Sighard production broadcast by CBS, starring J. Carrol Naish as Luigi and Alan Reed as Pasquale, and this episode aired on November 28, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
