What happens

Luigi Basko, a shopkeeper in Chicago, receives a letter from his mother in Italy saying she is growing older and wishes to see him again. Wanting to go home for a visit but short of money, Luigi asks his landlord Pasquale for a loan. Pasquale offers $2,000 if Luigi will marry his daughter Rosa, and Luigi, after some bargaining, agrees to a deal worth $1,000. Carol Nash stars as Luigi and Alan Reid plays Pasquale in this CBS comedy written and directed by Lou Derman. Pasquale wants the marriage to happen quickly, and Luigi must weigh the trip home against the arrangement.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
