What happens

Luigi Basco, a newly arrived immigrant in Chicago, writes home to his mother in Italy about his struggles to adjust to American life. He feels lonely and out of place, even at his night school class where he struggles with lessons on American history. His friends, including Pasquale and Rosa, try to cheer him up with advice on joining social groups and finding companionship. Luigi wanders the city at night, meeting strangers and dancing with a girl at a dance hall. The episode is part of the Life with Luigi comedy series, which aired on September 12, 1950, starring J. Carrol Naish as Luigi and Alan Reed as Pasquale.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
