What happens

Luigi Basco, a newly arrived Italian immigrant in Chicago, takes matters into his own hands when he worries that the safety zone near his children's school is hard to see. He writes a letter to the city traffic bureau, but is told it may take years to receive a reply, so he decides to repaint the zone himself. His neighbors, including Mr. Basco and Pasquale, react to his plan with a mix of advice and skepticism. Luigi is the star of the comedy series Life with Luigi, which first aired on June 19, 1951, with J. Carrol Naish in the title role and Alan Reed as the sponsor's announcer. The program is presented as an episode of this radio comedy.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
