What happens
Luigi Basko, a newcomer to Chicago, and his classmates in night school at Miss Spaulding's class plan a bazaar to raise a thousand dollars for free school lunches for poor children. Their donations from neighborhood merchants come in slowly, and the school board then cancels the bazaar and moves the class to the strict teacher Mr. Hein. Luigi writes letters to his mama in Italy about these events. The part of the episode covered here follows the class's struggle under Mr. Hein and their effort to revive the bazaar through consignment deals with local shopkeepers. Life with Luigi was a comedy series from Sigh Howard, with J. Carroll Naish starring as Luigi and Alan Reed as Pasquale. This episode aired on October 21, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
