What happens
Chester A. Riley, a loud and self-assured family man in Los Angeles, asserts his authority over his wife Peg and their children after a bruising day at the plant. When his children sneak off to the movies without permission, Riley scolds them and then drafts a suggestion for the factory's efficiency contest. His friend Gillis advises him to write a sarcastic letter to Peg, and Riley does, unaware of how it will be read. Later, at the plant, a dynamo is damaged in an incident involving Riley and an oil can, and the letter is set to reach its intended reader.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
