What happens
Chester A. Riley believes his homemade fertilizer has made a rabbit in his garden grow to gigantic size, and he begins to fear it will happen to him too. His daughter Babs and her boyfriend Simon Vanderhopper are involved in a plan to dress up as an Easter rabbit for a lodge party, which complicates matters. Riley's wife Peg and his friend Digger try to calm him while the household's odd mix of worries and misunderstandings builds. This is The Life of Riley, first broadcast on March 27, 1948, with William Bendix in the title role, Paula Winslowe, Hans Conried and Alan Reed among the cast.
The Riley family home and backyard garden in California, with a lodge Easter party as a later location.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
