What happens
Chester Riley's daughter Babs is courting Simon, a young man Riley distrusts, and the household soon finds Simon in the house and working at the Cozy Corner restaurant. Riley, meanwhile, is caught having dinner with Muriel Evans, a woman who is supposed to be a friend of his co-worker Ed Mitchell. Riley tries to keep the dinner secret from his wife Peg while Simon watches. William Bendix stars as Riley in this episode of The Life of Riley, a comedy series heard on the Blue Network and NBC. It first aired on April 26, 1947. The story covers only the first part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
