What happens

Chester A. Riley, a riveter, and his wife Peg decide to take in a boarder to help pay the bills. The new tenant, Mr. Ferguson, is a quiet, mysterious man whom Riley and Peg know little about, which makes Riley increasingly suspicious. Riley's son Junior and daughter Babs add their own opinions, while Riley tries to pry into the stranger's private life. The story is from The Life of Riley, a radio series heard on the Blue Network and ABC and NBC, first broadcast on October 21, 1949. William Bendix stars as Riley, with Paula Winslowe as Peg.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
