What happens
Chester Riley, a worker at an aircraft plant, is known for boasting of courage he does not show in practice. After an angry exchange with his foreman, Bendix Hawkins, Riley claims he punched him in the nose, and the story spreads through the plant. His wife Peg and son Junior hear the tale and react differently, while Riley worries about his pride and his job. The episode is from The Life of Riley, first broadcast on March 6, 1948, with William Bendix as Riley and Paula Winslowe as Peg.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
