What happens

Chester Riley's teenage son Junior is moody, having been dumped by his girlfriend Marilyn for a boy who plays chess and writes poetry. Riley advises him to take up music to win her back, and tells him how music once brought him together with his wife, Peg, when they were teenagers in Brooklyn. Peg recalls young Chester's determined violin practice and his romantic walks past her house, and their courtship is shown through a series of comic misadventures with neighbors, a landlord and a music teacher's inflated talk. The Life of Riley is a comedy series starring William Bendix as Riley and Paula Winslowe as Peg, and this episode was first broadcast on November 16, 1946, on the Blue Network/ABC and NBC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
